So imagine her surprise -- and I imagine her terror -- when she went into premature labor and delivered her son during a 14-hour flight from the Philippines to New York.The baby, named Jadan, was delivered by Jacel's husband Larry and a Korean surgeon in the kitchen area of the plane. Though Jadan will be hospitalized for a while, likely due to his prematurity, both mom and baby are doing well, despite a rocky start.I remember asking my OB if I could travel to my in-laws for Christmas, two weeks before my due date. "If you're ok with the idea of delivering your baby there," was his reply. I wasn't, and took comfort in my hospital being nearby. I can't imagine having a baby in an airplane... whew!
